Disco mailbox

What to do with old CD-ROMs? cut them up in small squares, triangles with scissors and glue them to your mailbox. The black of the box shows through like grout and the CDs are pretty in the sun.

What doesn't work:

• Using CDs of different colors


• Smashing CDs with a hammer - they just crack, not break


• Using paper-based CDs as opposed to printed CDs (once you break into a few you understand)


• Gorilla glue (spreads too much and dries too yellow)


• Big pieces

What does work:

• Rubber cement


• Doing a little at a time (I'm not quite done yet, as you can see)


• Maintaining space to raise and lower the flag
